We dream about having a store, alas, for now, we only exist online. Our studio is located in an old sail factory in the funky Hampden neighborhood of Baltimore, made famous by John Waters' Hairspray. Brimming with artists, collectively our building opens occasionally for tours.

DO YOU OFFER LOCAL PICKUP?
Absolutely and we would love to meet you. Our studio is only open by appointment so be sure to reach out prior to purchasing to set up the pickup.
DO YOU SHIP INTERNATIONALLY?
We do! At checkout you will be prompted with international shipping options.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE FOR MY ORDER TO SHIP?
We like fast shipping, too! For in stock items ordered before 1 PM EST, we ship the same day, Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.
Personalized orders, like invitations, have to be printed, which takes about 5-7 business days. As soon as we get the cards back from our printer, we get them cut (if necessary) and packaged right away, usually within a business day.

IS IT POSSIBLE TO CUSTOMIZE YOUR PRODUCTS?
For tangible products like invitations and craft kits, we are able to customize some products. It is best to email us with specific requests. Please note that there will be minimum requirements for customization, and there may be additional fees.
We are able to personalize our digital products. Again email us with what you need changed so that we can determine the scope and if there will be additional fees.
QUESTIONS ABOUT INVITATIONS
HOW ARE YOUR INVITATIONS PRINTED?
All of our invitations are professionally printed by our hand-selected American printers. We choose printers based on their level of quality and consistency. Once we receive printed cards, we examine each one to ensure that the quality is up to our high-standards.
If cards need to be die-cut, as most of ours do, the cutting is done in-house.
HOW DO YOUR INVITATIONS GET CUT INTO FUN SHAPES?
Creating fun-shaped cards is our favorite thing to design. Our design process involves lots of trial and error, which can take months. Once we have finalized a design, an American company manufactures a steel-ruled die to our specifications.
A die is like a cookie-cutter, but for paper. A printed card is placed on top of a die and then run through a press which punches out the shapes.
We die-cut each card in-house, by hand. If assembly is necessary, that, too, is performed in our studio by hand. There is a lot of love and care that goes into each and every card we produce.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO RECEIVE A PROOF?
All invitation orders will receive a digital sample, or proof, by email. The proof will be personalized with your information and emailed to your email address on file. The proofing process is an opportunity to ensure that all of your details are included and accurate. Spelling and punctuation should also be verified. The proof must be approved before the design is sent in for printing.
As long as all party details are included in an order, we generally send a proof the morning after an order is placed, Monday through Friday. Revisions are completed within 12 business hours, but often the same day.
Proofs for custom orders will take longer to create. A timeframe will be addressed prior to purchase.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO RECEIVE INVITATIONS IN THE MAIL?
All of our invitations are professionally printed. In general in takes about a week for us to receive printed cards. That timeframe starts after a proof is approved. We die-cut the cards, if necessary, as soon as we receive them.
Shipping, or transit time, depends on the method chosen at checkout. Standard shipping can take 2-5 business days in the continental United States, while international shipping can take 6-10 business days. We empathize but do not have
any control over shipping delays or custom delays, unfortunately.
It is a good idea to order invitations at least two weeks before you intend to mail them. Custom invitations should be initiated several months before your mailing date.
CAN YOU RUSH MY INVITATIONS?
We speak the last-minute language. For our part we will try to accommodate any rush requests. Since our cards are professionally printed, we do not have any control over our printer's schedule, unfortunately. We wish we did! When the printing is initiated we can request and advocate for a rush. We are unable to guarantee that our printer will be able to do so, however.
CAN I CHANGE COLORS?
In general, we are able to customize colors on invitations. Please email us with any customization requests before placing an order. It is helpful if you to attach digital swatches of your themed colors to the email. With your specific information we can address any limitations.
Please note that we have a limited amount of envelope colors available. Special orders of envelopes that we do not stock will require additional fees.
DO YOU DO CUSTOM INVITATIONS?
We enjoy doing custom invitations and as far as we are concerned, the wackier the better. Feasibility will depend on our current design schedule. Please email us with your thematic ideas and we will try to bring them to life.
DO YOU OFFER ENVELOPE ADDRESSING?

Any artwork is the sole property of Paper Built. If you would like to purchase a license to use any artwork at your event, we can provide you with the license fees.
CAN I MAKE CHANGES AFTER PRINTING?
If you need an invitation reprint with a date or time change, for example, we offer a 20% discount.
QUESTIONS ABOUT PRINTABLES
WHAT IS A PRINTABLE?
An affordable alternative to printed goods, printables are custom Paper Built-designed templates sold as digital PDF files. Some of our printables can be downloaded directly after purchasing, while others are customized by us and emailed to you. You can print our printables as many times as you wish for your own personal use. In other words, you cannot sell things made from our printable files.
WHAT TYPE OF SOFTWARE DO I NEED TO USE A PRINTABLE?
You will need access to a computer and a printer in order to view or print our files. It is imperative that you open our PDF files in Adobe Reader®. The latest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader DC can be downloaded for free here.
WHAT ARE EDITABLE FILES?
Some of our files have a nifty text-editable feature included which allows you to personalize your printable. In order for the PDF file to work properly, you must have the latest version of Adobe Reader® installed on your computer and you must open the file within the Adobe Reader® program.
Editable text is designated within Adobe Reader® by light blue boxes. While you can change the text contents, you will not be able to change the font, font size, or font color. We have extensive tutorials on working with PDFs in our Learn section.
IS THERE A SHIPPING CHARGE?
No, our printables are sent to you electronically (emailed) so shipping charges do not apply. Some states and some countries do require a tax or VAT for digital files, however.
HOW MANY CAN I PRINT?
Print and create as many of our designs as you would like for your own personal use. Even make a few extras to give as gifts to special friends! Our designs are copyrighted and have not be licensed for resale.
We do ask that you not share our files with friends, instead please direct them to our site so that they can get their own.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET A PRINTABLE?
Many of our printables are sold as an instant download. You will receive a link to the files shortly after placing your order. Instant downloads are sold as-is. They will appear exactly as shown in the listing and will not have any changes, even if you requested a change at checkout. If the printable has editable text, you will be able to personalize the file in Adobe Reader®.
Printable invitations need to be customized by us, which can take a few business days. If you have requested a custom printable, the timeline will be discussed prior to purchase.
WHAT TYPE OF SUPPLIES DO I NEED?
DO I NEED TO BE AN EXPERIENCED CRAFTER?
Absolutely not! We try to make our printables easy to assemble and always include detailed instructions. Our Learn section is full of more tips and tricks to keep your crafting fun and not frustrating.
DO YOU HAVE ANY PRINTABLES I CAN TRY OUT?
CAN I RETURN A PRINTABLE?
Due to the digital nature of our printable products, Paper Built does not allow for returns or refunds. We welcome you to try out one of our free printables first before you make a purchase. They are regularly added here.
CAN I MODIFY A PRINTABLE?
No, you will not be able to modify our files. All of Paper Built’s printable files are password protected preventing the file from being opened in any imaging editing program, like Photoshop and Illustrator. You also will not be able to copy our files in whole, or in part.
If you need minor changes to a file, send us an email with your request. We can modify files for a modest charge.
CAN I USE A CUTTING MACHINE TO CUT YOUR PRINTABLES?
Our printables are not designed to be used with cutting machines like the Silhouette® or Circut®. We are sorry! The files are set up to fill a sheet of paper, which unfortunately makes the design larger than the print-then-cut boundaries of cutting machines.
